Section 2 products Ian Anderon (Shenendehowa) and Kevin Smith (Columbia) have made Major League Baseball's player pools for the Atlanta Braves and Toronto Blue Jays respectively. Anderson is the third ranked prospect in Atlanta's rich minor league system.  He is in his fifth pro season since being drafted third overall in 2016 by the Braves.  Anderson's strikeout per 9 innings rate has been near or at the top of each minor league level in which he has pitched.

This is year four for Smith in the Blue Jays organization and he has shown the ability to play three positions on the infield.  The Columbia High grad hit 19 home runs at AA New Hampshire last season and is headed to Toronto this week.  A second round of spring training, which most teams hold at their home stadiums, is scheduled for July 1st.
