Empire takes down Philadelphia 71-57 in regular season finale, earns #1 seed in playoffs

The Albany Empire took down defending champion Philadelphia 71-57 in the regular season finale at the Times Union Center on Saturday night, clinching the top seed in the AFL playoffs.  With 10,082 fans in attendance, the Empire also earned the right to host the Arena Bowl should it get there thanks to sealing the highest average attendance during the regular season.  Albany will travel to fourth seeded Washington for the first game of a home and home series next weekend.  It will then host the Valor on Saturday, July 21st.
