Saratoga Race Course opens for the 2018 season

SARAATOGA SPRINGS - The gates opened up just before 7 a.m. at Saratoga Race Course. The race started for that perfect picnic table for opening day.

Hundreds of people waited in line for hours overnight for this moment.

Post time was 1 p.m. for the first race.

The two big races Friday are the $150,000 races, the Schuylerville and the Lake George. The big races this weekend are the 80th running of the $500,000 Diana on Saturday and the 102nd running of the Coaching Club American Oaks on Sunday.
