With teachers working in virtual classrooms now - some Capital Region high school coaches have come up with a similar way to keep their athletes engaged through virtual athletic championships.

Shen's Girl's Track and Field is hosting a virtual legacy track meet championship on Twitter this week.

They're taking all the statistics from the past eight seasons and creating daily match-ups between the team's current and former athletes.

For example, on Wednesday the team from 2012 faced off against the team from 2016.

Assistant Track Coach Keith Jordan goes through each event and reports the results - like he's delivering a live play-by-play.

Jordan has a whole bracket he's put together - with legacy teams facing off each day.

The big championship will be posted sometime next week.
