Excelsior College receives grant of nearly $250,000

Excelsior College is receiving a grant of nearly $250,000.

The money is from the U.S. Department of Energy. It will help the online college expand its nuclear reactor simulator.

They say it will show how an online institution can still give students hands-on experience, even in the field of science.

The Department of Energy gave out a total of $5 million to 18 colleges and universities to help with research into reactors and general scientific improvements.
