NewsChannel 13 introduces you to something called Do It Yourself STEM. It's an activity based program put together by scientists from the RNA Institute at the University at Albany.
They put on demonstrations Friday at three elementary schools in Albany. The scientists are partnering with local Boys and Girls clubs to raise interest and awareness about STEM among inner city youth.
“My interest is really in math, not in science. Math helps me think better and most of the work is easy,” said fifth grader Na'veiah Thompson.
Samsung Corporation has provided support for the program through financial grants.
