SARATOGA SPRINGS - Science was on tap in Saratoga Springs on Thursday.

Dr. Heidi DeBlock held a discussion at The Parting Glass. The talk was part of a monthly series put on by SPAC and The Dudley Observatory.

Thursday’s topic was the idea of Interplanetary travel and the possibility of colonizing Mars. DeBlock says a trip to Mars would only take six months.

"We're in low Earth orbit on the International Space Station and a lot of science is going on there. But it's time to step out of our neighborhood and make more discoveries," she said.

If you're interested in attending next month's discussion, it's June 26 at the Albany Pump Station. They'll be talking about the Spanish influenza pandemic of 1918.
