Sky Scraper Farms

October 21, 2018 12:09 PM

The future of farming may be here.

They are called sky-scraper or vertical farms. The man behind the idea says his goal is to have farm to table food in less than five hours for anyone living within 75 miles of one of these farms.

They are 52 story greenhouses that allow farmers to produce food in a controlled environment so they don't need pesticides or fungicides and they use 99% less water than field farming.

Construction on smaller 40 foot versions of the sky scraper farm is expected to begin next summer.
