NYRA has cancelled Saturday's racing at Saratoga, due to the expected excessive heat.
NewsChannel 13's First Warning Weather team is predicting the heat index will be near or over 100 degrees at times on Saturday, with hot temperatures Friday through Sunday.
In a statement, NYRA says the last time an entire Saratoga racing card was canceled because of extreme heat was on August 2, 2006, when temperatures rose to the upper 90s and the heat index measured as high as 110 degrees.
They say Saturday's card is being moved to Sunday.
