The New York Racing Association and Saratoga Springs plan to honor thoroughbred owner and philanthropist Marylou Whitney.

The clubhouse entrance at Saratoga Race Course will officially be named the Marylou Whitney Entrance.

NYRA will also celebrate Mrs. Whitney this Saturday, August 3, the same day as the Whitney Stakes. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to celebrate Whitney.

The city of Saratoga Springs is planning to rename Centennial Park to Marylou Whitney Park.

The park was built in 2015 with funding provided by Mrs. Whitney and her husband, John Hendrickson.

Whitney died last week at the age of 93.
