Military dog tag headed home after being found in a dump
A military dog tag discovered in a garbage dump in the middle of the Adirondacks is on its way back to its rightful owner.
Jacob Russell is the man to thank for that unexpected surprise. He says he stumbled across the dog tag around Memorial Day, in an old garbage dump in the woods. He decided to contact 13 Investigates to get it back to the family.
Our station created a post on Facebook. A few weeks later, we got an email from Schultz. He says Uncle John served in the Army from 1930 to 1935. He sent us the draft papers and death certificate as proof.
