Troy woman watches police body cam video in search for father’s ashes
A woman seeking answers on what happened to her father’s ashes after a fire at her home watched body camera video at the Troy Police Department on Thursday.
The ashes went missing during a house fire on Jan. 4 at Jennifer Brunson’s home on 5th Avenue, she said.
Police took her father’s ashes during the fire so they could be tested for drugs. She has a relative there who is known to use drugs, she said. However, she wants to know where the ashes are.
Brunson told NewsChannel 13’s Kumi Tucker police invited her to the police department to view that body cam video on Thursday.
NewsChannel 13’s cameras were not allowed inside, but we caught up with Brunson outside who says what she saw in the video confirms what she believes happened – police removed the urn with the ashes.
The fire remains under investigation.
Hear what happened at the police station Thursday that Brunson says caused even more frustration by watching the video.
