4th Annual Pumpkin Smash in Amsterdam

Not sure what to do with that jack o’lantern still hanging around? Why not smash it!
For the 4th year in a row, pumpkins were collected, smashed, and used to make compost for community gardens in Amsterdam.
Residents dropped off their pumpkins all morning, and got the opportunity to smash them this afternoon in Veterans Park.
Compost produced by the program will be used in the Wall Street and Kimball community gardens.
