Large crowd lines up at wake for Brunswick teen
More than 1,000 came out to pay their respects to Evan Franz. Some people waited in line for hours to pay their respects.
The teenager died last week after an almost four-year battle with brain cancer.
He had an impact on many people in different ways.
Franz was a big Boston Red Sox fan. His family asked people to wear either a jersey or Tamarac High School colors. Many of the people in attendance could be seen wearing jerseys.
Franz played on the Tamarac baseball team and was an honorary member of the Sienna men’s basketball team.
In addition to his love for sports, he was known for having a great sense of humor.
William Trigg is the CEO of Make-A-Wish Northeast New York. Trigg says they were able to grant Franz’s wish to go to see the Boston Red Sox at spring training. Trigg says he will always remember Franz’s unique personality.
