Albany man arrested in narcotics investigation

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Shawn Douglas, 52, of Albany following an ongoing narcotics investigation.
Officials say they executed a search warrant at an address on Grandview Terrace in Albany on Thursday. During the search, they discovered approximately 5.8 grams of cocaine and 3.9 grams of fentanyl.
The Sheriff’s Office adds that the substances were packaged for sale and were accompanied with multiple digital scales, which are commonly used for weighing and distribution of narcotics.
Douglas was charged with the following:
- Two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia
- Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
Officials say Douglas was taken to the Albany County Correctional Facility and was arraigned on Friday.
