Albany Police: 5 people shot on Livingston Ave

Albany Police said five people were shot early Saturday morning around 1:10 a.m. on the 300 block of Livingston Avenue, just west of Henry Johnson Boulevard.

A group of juveniles approached a residence in this area, and an individual fired a handgun an unknown amount of times at the group.

Albany Police Chief Brendan Cox said two 16-year-old females were struck with gunfire, one struck in the arm and the other struck in the legs. Additionally, a 15-year-old female was struck in the leg, a 14-year-old male was struck in the arm, and a 41-year-old female struck in the shoulder.

Police said all five people were taken to and treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.
