During the festival paddlers raced one another in a tournament style competition.

Up to 20 paddlers and one drummer fit on each boat.

The event benefits the fight against breast cancer.

We caught up with boaters from an all-female crew made up of breast cancer survivors who talked about the doctor’s theory of the link between races and recovery.

It was the women’s third year competing.

Dragon boats originated in China and have grown in popularity throughout the world.
