Taste of Italy in Latham said they delivered food to the Albany Empire football team Wednesday, and until Thursday morning, they hadn’t been paid.

Things changed when the restaurant complained on social media. Now the restaurant has been paid in full.

This all began when a team official ordered around $700 of food and drinks earlier this week.

The family-owned business said they delivered the order to the team and were told they’d be paid in cash.

After that didn’t happen for several days, the restaurant posted on social media Thursday morning to explain what happened.

Owner Antonio Brown then personally called them to apologize and pay, they said.

“I get a phone call from Antonio Brown. He was very nice, very humble, said it was a misunderstanding, apologized, said he wanted to support our family business and that he paid us with his credit card and then placed another order,” said Frank Cappello, with Taste of Italy.

The restaurant has already prepared another meal for the team and says they’ve also been paid in full for that.
