Arrest made in attempted Pittsfield kidnapping

A woman is accused of attempting to kidnap two children in Pittsfield.

Sharon Kranich approached a family, assaulted them and grabbed their toddler, police said. She then tried to take the toddler and a baby away from the children’s mother.

She only made it about 10 feet before the mom was able to pull both children back from the suspect.

Kranich ran into a building, police said, and was later arrested.
