A man was convicted Monday of attacking his ex-girlfriend’s father with a shovel.

Troy Tenace from the town of Ballston was found guilty on four charges, including felony assault.

The jury found him guilty of choking a woman when she tried to leave his house.

When she called her family, her father arrived, and Tenace picked up a shovel and hit the man in the back of the head. He fell to the ground.

Tenance continued to hit him while the man was passed out, causing traumatic brain injury.

Tenace faces 25 years in prison when he’s sentenced.
