Ballston Spa teacher accused of having sexual contact with minors

Crim Trerise, 56, allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with four victims under the age of 14 in the town of Greenfield.

Police say it happened from 2015 to 2017, and Trerise knew his victims.

He was taken to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.

As of Thursday afternoon, Trerise is listed on the Ballston Spa Schools website as a member of the math department at Ballston Spa High School.

Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo said the investigation began several months ago, when a victim came forward to their parents. Police then discovered more victims.

Police say none of the victims were students. And the district says they have not been told that any of the crimes took place in Ballston Spa schools.

“They were not students. I don’t want to get in too much detail because this is really an ongoing investigation. The news is out on it, and if there’s other victims, we encourage them to speak to their parents, and let us know what’s going on, but it was not school-related,” Sheriff Zurlo said.

The sheriff said the investigation began with one victim speaking up.

“We were notified a couple months ago from the victim’s parents of the alleged activity that was taking place, our investigation began then. As it did, we found a few other victims, and the subject was charged and arraigned [Wednesday],” he said.
