Bennington homicide suspect facing new charges in prior crime

Investigators say Elliot Russell, the man charged with a homicide in Bennington, is also wanted for an assault on Church Street.
Police say they found a victim with cuts to the head.
Russell now faces charges of robbery, assault and menacing in that case. He was arrested just after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Russell is the same man police believe shot and killed someone in Bennington on Wednesday night. He has not formally been charged in that crime.
