Cohoes firefighters raise money for Gold Star Mothers

The Cohoes Fire Department raised $1,500 for Gold Star Moms in New York.

The firefighters presented a check to Cindy Roberts on Tuesday. She’s the president of the Department of New York American Gold Star Mothers.

For the month of May, the fire department wore and sold shirts to remember the fallen for Memorial Day.

Roberts says she was pleasantly surprised when the firefighters told her they were going to have the fundraiser.

The funds raised will help Gold Star Mothers in the Capital Region.
