Cohoes man gets 6 years in prison for hitting ex-girlfriend, threatening to kill her

A convicted felon from Cohoes was sentenced to 6 years in prison for hitting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her.

Marc Malinowski, 39, was arrested on Aug. 4 after Albany Police responded to Central Avenue and Quail Street for a report of a man threatening a woman with a gun. Officers found a woman with a deep cut to her head, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Malinowski had arrived at the victim’s home in Watervliet earlier that morning and ordered her at gunpoint to drive him to Albany. When they made it there, he ordered that he drive her to Cohoes. Then, he demanded that she drive back to Albany.
Malinowski then threatening her with a gun while on 787, putting it against her head and screaming: “I will (expletive) shoot you.” He then punched her in the head and mouth with a closed fist.

Malinowski has been arrested at least 10 times dating back to 2003 and spent time in prison for rape.
