The Rotterdam man accused of killing his 79-year-old mother stabbed her in the neck, according to court documents.

Patrick M. Haggerty, 39, is charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Catherine Haggerty.

The incident is domestic in nature, police said.

He was scheduled to be in Rotterdam Town Court on Friday, but that was canceled as the case is likely headed to Schenectady County Court.
