Crash of stolen car in Albany under investigation

A car crash on Northern Blvd. led to the apprehension of several suspects in Albany Saturday evening.

According to the Albany Police Department, the crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. after two 15 year olds and 16-year-old threatened a woman with a loaded handgun and stole her car and cell phone.

After eluding police and leading them on a chase, police stated that the vehicle had crashed near the intersection of Benson St. and Parson St. about an hour after it was stolen.

Police have also told us that the juveniles were arrested again after the crash. Police say they already have ongoing felony cases in family court. They have not yet released their names.

Police say that no one was injured from the crash. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.

Police say that all three were charged with robbery, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a weapon.

All three are scheduled for arraignment Monday in Albany County Family Court.
