A Duanesburg man accused of killing his wife and son appeared in Schenectady County Court Tuesday morning.

Back in December, police say 47-year-old Nelson Patino called 911 to say he stabbed his family.

Police found Patino’s wife and 5-year-old son dead in the home. A 2-year-old boy survived.

Patino is facing first and second-degree murder charges, as well as attempted murder.

Officials say that Patino has been granted a Huntley Hearing. That’s a pre-trial hearing reviewing how police obtained statements from the defendant.

No date has been set yet.
