Ex-Colonie gentleman’s club manager will remain behind bars

The former manager of Shenanigans Gentlemen’s Club, who is accused of selling methamphetamine, lost another bid to get out of jail.

Luiggi Canessa appeared in U.S. District Court on Tuesday. He asked a judge to reconsider his detention and have him be under home confinement instead.

Canessa was arrested last April after police said he sold meth to an undercover officer at his home, which was less than 300 feet from the Colonie business. He also told investigators that he distributed meth, cocaine and marijuana from the residence. His arrest is part of a larger investigation into allegations of drug trafficking and sex trafficking at the establishment.

Judge Christian Hummel denied a motion to reconsider his detention.

Canessa recently obtained a new attorney, Mark Sacco. His previous attorney, Lee Kindlon, resigned when he was elected Albany County district attorney.
