Pittsfield apartment building fire under investigation

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – A fire at an apartment building on Orchard Street in Pittsfield is under investigation. It broke out around 10 p.m. Monday evening.

The Pittsfield Fire Department says they initially had reports of children being trapped inside, but firefighters worked quickly to search the building and no one was found.

There is no word yet on the cause.
