Firefighters extinguish Averill Park fire
An out of control brush fire spread to a single family home just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Firefighters were on the scene quickly on Route 66 and were able to save most of the structure.
It appears as though no one was injured, although some firefighters did require oxygen after putting out the fire.
