Former Rep. Lee Zeldin was in Albany Monday for the first time since losing the November election for New York governor.

He spoke at the Conservative Party’s press conference at the Hilton, to discuss Gov. Kathy Hochul’s budget proposal.

“I would actually argue that the election that just passed proved that it’s important for there to be local control.”

Zeldin also spoke about the legislative pay raise that passed days before the end of the legislative session last year, where lawmakers voted to give themselves a 29% raise.
