Hikers rescued from Johnsburg mountain
A group of hikers was rescued from Crane Mountain in Johnsburg, Warren County.
The State Department of Environmental Conservation released the information on Tuesday.
The group – which included a 9-year-old – called 911 last Thursday, saying they were running out of daylight and didn’t have headlamps.
Rangers responded and rescued the group around 8:30 p.m.
DEC reminds hikers to bring the 10 hiking essentials, even when planning a short trip. Those include navigation tools, insulation and rain gear, lights, first aid supplies, emergency kits, tools to make fire, food, and water, sun and insect protection.
