Man charged Saturday morning after shots-fired incident at Saratoga Springs Police Station

Suspect identified in gunfire outside Saratoga Springs police station

Police say 76-year-old Paul Trinci fired shots outside the Saratoga Springs police station on Lake Avenue just before 7:45pm Friday night.

The Saratoga Springs Police Department says 76-year-old Paul Trinci of Malta has been charged Saturday morning following a shots-fired incident that happened at their police station Friday night.

Police say Trinci was arrested after a police pursuit that ended in the Town of Malta.

Chief McIntosh told NewsChannel 13 this morning that there were no injuries from this incident.

Trinci was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court Saturday morning.

He was charged with the following:

  • First-degree attempted assault
  • First-degree reckless endangerment
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Second-degree criminal use of a firearm
  • Second-degree criminal mischief
  • Second-degree reckless endangerment
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Unlawful fleeing from a police officer
  • Driving while intoxicated: 0.08% BAC or higher
  • Reckless driving
  • Numerous other traffic infractions

Trinci was remanded to the custody of the County Sheriff without bail and will appear in court at a future date.
