Montgomery County man sentenced to over 11 years in prison on gun, drug charges

A Montgomery County man was sentenced on Tuesday to more than 11 years in prison on weapons and drug charges.
Joseph Mitchell, 38, of Nelliston, had previously admitted to working with another person to distribute more than 350 grams of methamphetamine last August, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. A search of his home on Sept. 5 found two rifles and one shotgun.
Mitchell has previous felony convictions for attempted robbery and narcotics possession is not allowed to legally possess firearms, prosecutors said.
He was sentenced to 135 months in prison. He also must serve 5 years of post-release supervision and must forfeit the guns.
