New Facebook scam circulating tag sale groups

The Bennington Police Department is warning Facebook users about a new scam.

The scam has been posted to Facebook groups all over the country and features a picture of a missing girl sitting in a vehicle with a message saying the poster found the girl wandering behind their apartment.

The post goes on to say that the poster needs help finding the girl’s parents.

At this time he Bennington Police Department has no report of a missing child matching the girl’s description and believes the post is a hoax. The post appears to be circulating mostly among Facebook tag sale groups.
