Woman drowns in Lake George boating accident

July 4th festivities turned tragic on Lake George, Friday evening.

A group of people began swimming with their boat unanchored.

As people got back on the boat, the last woman still swimming slipped below the surface of the water.

The man driving the boat backed up too fast while trying to save her. The dive team later found the woman dead in 14 feet of water.

Two other people fell out of the boat when the driver backed up to try and save her, investigators said. One hit her head and was taken to the hospital. The other one was not hurt.

The driver of the boat was arrested for boating while intoxicated.

No names are being released, pending notification of family.
