A nurse in the Berkshires will spend three months behind bars after stealing drugs that were meant for a critically ill patient.

Jessica Lotto of Pittsfield admitted back in February 2019 that while working as a nurse at Berkshire Medical Center, she used a syringe to steal fentanyl being administered to the patient through an IV line.

She pleaded guilty in May 2022 to acquiring a controlled substance by fraud, deceit or subterfuge. She was sentenced Friday to three months in prison.
