Saratoga Springs Police help rescue horse who fell through ice
Saratoga Springs Police officers helped rescue a four-legged friend who had fallen through the ice of a pond.
It happened at the home of Ali Ernst. She wrote on Facebook that she came home from work, looked out the window and saw her horses playing on the pond.
One of those horses, Sly, fell through the ice into water over his head.
Ernst called everyone she could think of. Responding officers Kyle Clinton, Kris Camarro, and Dom Martuscello rushed over to help. People from Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital also showed up to help.
They used a rope to work together and pull the horse until it was able to get up on its own.
The Saratoga Springs Police Department said they were pleased to be able to help.
“This is what community is all about and this is what we aim to do…protect the lives of Saratogians, whether they have two legs or four!” they wrote on Facebook.
NewsChannel 13 is speaking with the officers and will have updates on air and online.
