Teen dead after dirt bike accident in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WNYT)- A 17-year-old is dead after a dirt bike accident in Central Park near Duck Pond Road Friday night just before 9 p.m., the Schenectady Police Department said.

Police said it appears the teen hit a chain barrier at the park causing her to sustain serious injuries. She was treated on the scene and taken to Ellis Hospital where she died a short while later.

Police said they are not releasing the teens name.

The crash is being investigated by police and Schenectady County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction team.
