CDTA unveils pink bus to raise breast cancer awareness

The Capital Region American Cancer Society kicked off their Breast Cancer Awareness campaign Friday morning at their headquarters in Latham.

The CDTA unveiled their annual pink bus for people to see. Nearly everyone who came out had on a pink shirt, hat or even tie.

The whole goal of Friday’s event was for the American Cancer Society to bring people together to raise awareness about Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Both breast cancer survivors and men who are part of the Real Men Wear Pink campaign came to the event.

There will be several events taking place in the Capital Region this month.

The 27th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event will take place in Washington Park on Oct. 16.

The Real Kids Wear Pink Day will take place on Oct. 21. Kids throughout the Capital Region are encouraged to wear pink that day.
