Many of us use tap water every day for drinking and cooking. But have you ever thought about how safe the water is that you are using?

The state Department of Health is continuing its effort to keep your water safe. New York announced that they will regulate more PFAS in the drinking water. These are chemicals that have been known to cause cancer.

The state has proposed regulations for 23 additional emerging contaminants in drinking water.

Starting on Oct. 5 you can view the proposals in the state’s register online. The public will have between now and Dec. 5 to review and comment.
