Tuesday’s primary likely to decide Albany’s next mayor
The city of Albany is on the verge of its biggest political change in more than a decade.
With no major Republican challengers, the winner of Tuesday’s Democratic primary will likely become the city’s next mayor.
Chief City Auditor Dorcey Applyrs, Pine Hills native Dan Cerutti, Albany Common Council President Corey Ellis and Legislator Dr. Carolyn McLaughlin are all vying for the job.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This will be Albany’s first new mayor in 12 years, and just the city’s fifth mayor in just 84 years.
