Washington County Fair returns this week

The Washington County Fair kicks off this week.

The fair was cancelled in 2020. They also had a scaled down fair last year. So, this will be the first full fair since the pandemic.

There are several new things taking place this year. They will have a farmers market in the county bounty and a barnyard cackle. There will be some special events this year, which include livestock judging throughout the week, a demolition derby and a rodeo. You do not have to pay extra to watch any of the special events.

“We are really excited. On Saturday, we will have the New England dairy promotion board here, with-7,000 milk samples, all different flavors good for kids, as well as maple experience truck. It will be down in our Upper Hudson Maple. We will have carnival rides, racing pigs, all of the things you would expect to see here at the Washington County Fair. There is fun for everyone and we are really excited to be back, bigger than ever,” said Rebeeca Breese, one of the managers at the Washington County Fair.

Kids 13 and under are free. It’s $15 to get in for the day and $45 for a week pass.
