Troy pub welcomes songwriters

A Troy pub transforms into a musical haven on the second Tuesday of each month. The Ruck welcomes songwriters to perform in the center of the room, facing each other with the audience surrounding them. They perform all genres, and the response has been very positive, selling out all 75 seats in 24 hours. The next Song City is March 14 at the Ruck.

New York City Ballet holding auditions for SPAC performances

The New York City Ballet is holding auditions for children in the Capital Region to be part of the production  “Firebird” when the show performs at SPAC this summer. Casting includes roles for 14 girls from 9-12 years old. The auditions are virtual. You can submit videos from now through the end of March on SPAC’s website.

New York Maple Weekends

New York Maple Weekends are returning. The event is hosted by the New York State Maple Producers Association. More than 20 maple producers will open their sugarhouses for visitors. Click here for an interactive map where you can find different locations.

Pittsfield Police dog gets big role in ‘Annie’

Pittsfield Police Pup Winston is headed for the big stage. Winston made the announcement on Facebook that he’s playing Sandy in the musical, “Annie” put on by Hoosac Valley High School.
Winston says he’s embarking on his 15 minutes of “pup star” next month. The show is March 17 and 18.
