Deputy reads to kids in Montgomery County

Montgomery County Deputy Cameron Cimo recently took some time to read to children at Barkley Elementary School in Amsterdam. He read the book “Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun.” The book teaches lessons about kindness, acceptance and standing up for yourself.

Capital Region athletes heading to Junior Olympics in Colorado

Two local athletes are heading to the Junior Olympics. Saratoga Central Catholic senior Christopher Comstock and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake sophomore Marshall Schmidt are both competing in air rifle shot. The teenagers train at The Rifle Club in Galway. The national games take place in Colorado Springs next month.

As the snow melts from the nor’easter, Guptill’s Ice Cream in Latham is getting ready to open for the season. You can once again enjoy the dozens and dozens of flavor offerings at the ice cream shop on New Loudon Road starting Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m.

Free day pass at Capital District YMCAs

To celebrate the new addition of the popular Les Mills Body Pump Classes, the Capital District YMCA branches are offering a free day pass for Saturday, March 18. That includes branches in Bethlehem, Glenville, Greene County, Greenbush, Guilderland, Southern Saratoga and Troy. They are all free and open to the public this Saturday, March 18.
