Albany Med, CDPHP agree on new contract
Albany Med and CDPHP have reached an agreement on a new contract, after a months-long dispute.
This deal includes the insurance provider paying Albany Medical Center $30 million in payments withheld for more than a year.
The new two-year contract will prevent any disruption in care for members of CDPHP, according to Albany Med.
“We are grateful to reach an agreement that preserves our valued patients’ access to the high-quality care they expect and deserve,” said Albany Med Health System President and CEO Dennis P. McKenna, MD, in a statement. “Many of the advanced services we offer cannot be found anywhere else locally. This agreement recognizes the indispensable role our Albany Med hospitals and health care teams hold in the health of our region. It also acknowledges what is required to provide that care to the people we serve.”
As NewsChannel 13 has been reporting, CDPHP told Albany Med back in August it would start withholding payments for its insured patients.
