SUNY has announced a new scholarship designed to educate future nurses.

The Healthcare Educator Scholarship is a pilot program to ensure that more skilled nurses are ready to enter the workforce and improve the quality of health care throughout New York state.

The scholarship will cover tuition and fees and provide a stipend to baccalaureate-prepared nurses pursuing a master’s degree in nursing.

In return, recipients will commit to a three-year faculty position at a SUNY associate-level nursing program.

This is all part of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s health care workforce agenda.
