Monday kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week at Cardona’s Market.

The restaurant will salute Capital Region educators with a signature sandwich all week.

The Teacher’s P.E.T. is a Cardona’s specialty sub featuring prosciutto, eggplant and tomato on a classic Italian roll with stracciatella cheese, garlic confit, olive oil and pepper relish.

It will take a seat at the head of the class through Friday.

Cardona’s guests are also invited to nominate a favorite local school or teacher for a chance to win a Teacher’s Lounge Hot Lunch Box package. That will feed up to 20 members of the hard-working faculty during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Nominations can be submitted at each of Cardona’s three market locations – in Albany, Latham or Saratoga Springs.

The drawing will take place on Friday, and the winning schools will receive sandwich platters for their faculty the following week.
