A local organization is working to help transition thoroughbreds from racing to new, productive careers. Aftercare Continued Thoroughbred Training – also known as ACTT Naturally – was founded by Valerie Buck in 2013.

The non-profit organization works to rehome retired thoroughbreds and match them with organizations that use horses to help people through therapeutic programs.

While horses are in Buck’s care, they participate in ACTT Naturally’s programs to support veterans, first responders, women who’ve suffered from trauma, teens and their families.
