Owner of former Puzzles Bakery opens new Schenectady café

The owner of the former Puzzles Bakery and Café in Schenectady has opened a new eatery with a new concept.

Novel Biblio Brew is a coffee bar, eatery and small bookstore.

The café will have food, drinks, baked goods and even hold community events.

The shop also features floor to ceiling shelving that’s stocked with books, board games, candles, puzzles and more.

Puzzles Bakery opened back in 2015. It became known for its commitment of providing employment opportunities for those with developmental disabilities.

Novel Biblio Brew’s owner, Sara Mae Pratt, says she will continue to preach the importance of a more diverse workforce to other local businesses.

Several former Puzzles employees remain on staff at the new business. Novel Biblio Brew is located at 515 State Street in Schenectady.
